Mystic Bowie and the Maroons at 3 Dives

Special events have started early in 2015! The world famous 3 Dives Jerk Centre hosted the Maroon Pre-Independence Concert featuring Maroon Dancers and Drummers along with the Maroon singer/artist, Mystic Bowie on January 4th! This event celebrates the 277th anniversary of the treaty with the British signed by Maroon Captain Cujoe in 1738. Mystic Bowie is building a library and media centre at the Accompong Town Primary and Junior High School where he grew up. In his own words, as a child he had nowhere to study, no library from which to borrow books. "Right now, I want no child to have that negative experience that I had, I am saying to those children that I am blessed, and I brought back this blessing to share with you all, so make sure that whenever you get to this point, where you have something to share, please do not hesitate. Ten years from now, I expect those children to be teachers and be back here teaching. They should be giving back, and I will be holding them accountable myself."
