Boardie Bash Day at Abeokuta

The newly revised 6 day schedule for our 15th Annual Boardie Bash is finalizing and today we have some more information! On Saturday the 27th, we will be having the day trip to Abeokuta, one of Jamaica's most beautiful unspoiled natural attractions. Starting at 10am, we will all meet up near the roundabout at the Burger King parking lot. This is centrally located and a short taxi ride from all the resort properties in Negril. You can ask your front desk to arrange a taxi for you. Dudley from Big Ship Tours (as seen on the Gardenia episode of Hotel Impossible) will be taking us on 40 minute ride through the Jamaican countryside to Abeokuta Paradise Nature Park - the round trip cost is US$15 per person. The entrance fee to Abeokuta is US$5. The Park itself occupies 13 acres of land on a hill with an incredible view. On the property is the oldest swimming pool in Jamaica which goes back three hundred years! There is a rope swing too! Mineral Water is supplied to this historic pool as the river water flows constantly and ends in two separate waterfalls. Also on the property are the remains of the Great House still standing magnificently fashioned from pure cut 2’ thick stone. There is a optional 40 to 60 minute Riverwalk Tour guided for US$5. There is a fully stocked bar and restaurant, ice cold drinks are available and Red Stripes are US$2.50. Lunch runs around US$8 and includes brown stew, fried or jerk chicken and steamed fish. At 2pm we will all gather back on Dudley's bus and head back to Negril, dropping you off at back at the Burger King parking lot or you can personally arrange the cost to have Dudley drop you off at your hotel. The special cost for the day will only be US$20 per person - $15 for the roundtrip ride and $5 for the entrance fee, the usual transportation fee alone is US$25 per person!
