Misha, I had the first kidney stone attack on Thanksgving and spent 1.5 days in Sav Hospital. The doctors were very helpful, the nurses on the other hand didn't seem to like their jobs too much.

Thank you boardie family for all your support. It truly helps, It really does.

With all your support Capt Rob will be back to fish again.

"..most of the nurses in Jamaica seem like they dont give a shit, but I feel that they care too much to start with, as most nurses around the world do and when every effort to help a patient is met with sub-standard equipment, little or no meds or supplies...its easy to see why they cop a attitude...same as anywhere."

I met some great nurses at UHWI and Cornwall and Jamaican nurses are the best at juggling meagre resources but there are some that are full of sh@#t and should never have chosen nursing as a vocation. I guess this also true of nurses worldwide.

CROB!

Jeeze, I turn away from the board for a couple of days and all hell breaks loose! So you'll be ice fishing in Colorado for a while with The Stones? Have 'em sing "Honky Tonk Women" for me.

Let's get that junk outta there, bud. We want you pain-free and back in the water!
You can still sponsor Bullit's 2007 Reggae Marathon finish for FOJ, USA!

All nurses no matter where they work are god sends and I know that. Rambo you are so correct regarding the sub par standards the medical staff has to work with in Jamaica.
But when a nurse would rather be on a phone talking to her baby father "actually yelling" and doesn't bring me my pain meds I wasn't happy. Oh well thats over with.

"RW" I was in the ER the whole time.

CROb--I feel for you and your pain. My husband has had kidney stones twice and the first time they blasted them in the hospital with a machine that only comes around a couple of times a month (so you wait in pain until it's your town's hospital that gets to use the machine). the second time they put a stint in and I don't recommend that because it's very uncomfortable. Ask for the Litho blast, that works the best if they have the equipment. Good luck and hope you pass them soon (stay away from dairy products)

Im Ok, just in pain and anxiously awaiting surgery but the stones need to move more so the Dr. can grab them.

Keep smiling and I'll do the same.
