LOL, dreadneck. I love your grave sense of humor and the deadpan way in which you deliver it.

Hey folks this lady reported that her husband was mugged. Instead of trying to find out the real story as it would come in after the dust settles, She has had her character challenged by some and I believe that is not right. We don't know her heart. We don't see her soul. And we don't know what happened. To simply bully her to shut her up is wrong. Now we will never know what happened to all of our detriment.

If this was a bonified mugging, and I have seen no reason to believe that it is otherwise, then I want to know what went down.

Points made that we are safer if we stay away from prostitutes and drugs are fine and obvious. Walking with swagger or being accompanied by Ja friends is cool. Being drunk, and out all night and getting into trouble happens. But going after this woman like this is shameful and cost other people a chance to learn something that might help in the future.

I have no need or want for sympathy on this board, or anywhere. Maybe "empathy" is the word you were looking for? Either way it appears that Smith doesn't care to understand anything other than his own points of view.

No, sympathy was the word I was looking for, but thanks for checking! I'm sorry that you feel so miserable about Smith, and I wasn't twisting words, so please don't accuse me. I said that I was offended and told you how I felt about your words regarding it being more difficult if you are a white woman versus being black, whether you realized it or not, that was a form of racism. I simply stated my opinion.

negril being so small, i believe that is a factor in why you don't get haggled or pressured by folks, THEY KNOW you have a man.

See where you going with that, and maybe that's true... lol, but even on my first trip before I met Andre, neither me nor my Mother were haggled... and we were pasty... NOT tan! LOL

After Smith's adolescent sexual comment, the word that comes to mind for him is still "disgusting". Grown up? Please.

Okay, well I didn't see that one... but, and I'm just asking, does that mean that when someone says something horrible to you that you stoop just as low??? NOT trying to start an arguement, or upset you, just stating that's how I see it...

Okay, this thread is done for me... not coming back.

huh ??

i'm don't *think* anyone bullied or has gone after boardie-leslie. Her personal-situation hasn't been discussed in this thread, for long-time ---- not since about post #20-ish. We've moved-on, to other related items (herein).

but, on-topic, I am concerned about her husband's well being, and her's too.

tru-tru

in a way, i *think* that is what some of the 'earlier' posters were trying to do ---- find out what happened, as well as express concern. Additionally, the fact of the matter is::>> several posters DID apologize for anything they said which may have been construed and an attack, insult, etc etc etc.

..

..

anyhoo...

Gotta GO !!!

Sympathy is pity. Who needs it? Not I.

There was absolutely nothing racist about the question I asked Smith. Damn right, being a little white woman alone anywhere would make me a seemingly easy target for a hoodlum.

A comment like that coming from a man his age? Disgusting, childish...both. The word I chose to use is "disgusting". Didn't even come close to getting to Smith's level.

Yes Smith, I have noticed that people will jump to defend you no matter what the topic. I personally feel you can't be reasoned with.

If it is what makes you feel good, go ahead with your childish jabs.

not sure why but when I look at your boardie name it could be pronounced ge-ooo-k as in joke....but then I was never good a phonetics...learned to read the sight word way back in the 50's. Perhaps Smith will answer this one....don't think any harm was intended on this one...but best for him to answer for himself....oh Smith?????????

Alexandra, I couldn't have posted a better response (and I LOVE to write!) Crime happens everywhere...try being in Omaha, Nebraska, christmas shopping at a high end mall, when all of a sudden a sniper shoots and kills 9 people including himself OR in Colorado where innocent people just got shot up outside of a church! Now, with all the crime in Jamaica, has anyone heard of anything so crazy happening there? By the way, everyone assumed the Omaha sniper was black, the police even arrested two black teens that they assumed did the shooting only to find out they were in hiding after the shooting because they were SCARED! Do you think any apologies were made to them after the police found out who really did the shooting?? Humm...I'm with you Alex, i'm inclined to feel safer in Jamaica right now, than in my own hometown!
