stay tuned if we're lucky, one of the boardies who's down there NOW will post some pics for us .... [ fingers crossed ] as you probably know (and have observed), when folks get on-island they get distracted and don't get around to fooling around on the computer. ~ be happy ~

I know what you mean smith - when on the island I can be found on the beach with a rum punch... and I don't even think of computers, telephones, phones, etc. But, maybe we will get lucky and someone will share pic's with those of us stuck up north. |

...one more thing-y, TOO ::>>> the 'current' might be locked-off around Negril, and some computer-places don't have generators. ....plus, for computer places, it might take a likkle while to take the equipment out of the plastic bags, and set-up stuff. ~ be happy ~

| Thanks for the pics! Wow, look at those waves coming in. Certainly can't float out in the water on a raft with those! |

Beach looks a bit washed away to me but looks pretty good! I discovered that JB overproof rum and Ting! WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Burned all the way down but wwwhooaaaaa! What a nice way to end the day! I ventured out a little more this time. Being alone was hard but I managed! Met some really neat people. Working did not allow me a lot of time on the beach though ~ Looking forward to next visit! |

| Looks like if there is one more big storm Alfred's stage will be a floating show. I remember my 1st trip to Alfred's 3 yrs ago..there was a lot more beach in front of the stage. Miss it...wish I was there now!! |

just got back last night...preparing the larger trip report. In regards to the beach...seems that some places grew while others have shrunk. The beach around Country Country, Treehouse and Norma's seems a bit smaller after the storm, while the southern end of the beach may have grown a bit. The area of beach from Chances south to Whistling Bird seems to be quite wide. Took about 2-3 days for the sea to calm down after regurgitating tons of seaweed, debris and other garbage. Most of the hotels and restaurants along the beach did a great job of keeping it clear and clean. I remember on my first trip, Jan 2001, the beach in front of the treehouse felt like maybe 50+ yards... -josh |

"2-3 days for the sea to calm down...." What I mean by this is the sea was very rough and wavy for about 2-3 days (Monday-Wednesday). By Thursday, our last day, the sea calmed down and cleared up to the crystal clear water we all love so much. Wednesday night, as we walked to a great dinner at Normas, the beach was chock full of seaweed, mainly from Chances north to Beachcomber... |
