I had found an ad about a month ago and posted it on another site, I'll post that link below.

The ad ran like this...

"Silver Star Outback is located in central Negril, about a 15 minute walk to the world famous Seven Mile Beach or to the equally famous Negril cliffs. We offer 1-5 small, private rooms, some connecting, starting @ USD $20 per person nightly, $100 weekly, USD $25 for 2 people nightly, $125 weekly. One of the rooms is a kitchenette with sink, stove, and frig for $10 more. A bed, no a/c, a fan, free internet access, clean linens and towels are provided. We have on site security. It is about an hour and a half from the Montego Bay airport to Negril. Our rooms are ideal for people that want to go out and see REAL Jamaica instead of staying at some resort."

Call Ja 876-395-3161 or US 816-521-8684 and ask for Wags

There is NO website yet but I guess one is coming. This Wags guy is claiming it's VERY real and a decent place to book your next stay.

Who wants to go and report back? :-D

Chad

RedGround is where a lot travelers use to stay in the 60's and 70's before all dem resorts showed up on da Cliffs and Beach

Upload

come and go all day, and no staying in bed on a school day as 100+ kids can not be quiet,

but for the price most people could put up with that

Yes, Chad....it's pretty nice. The rooms are newly refurbished and look good. There is even a restaurant on the premises! Wags is for real!!!

It's just before Falcon Cottages (new name I know not) and just around the corner from the imfamous Mandrex Corner Handy area.

Please what is the infamous Mandrex Corner Handy area?

Dr. O, I think its the stretch heading toward the West End, starting at the curve past Hi-Lo and going down to just past the old Negril Yacht Club.
