Will be in Negril on Thanksgiving which is also my birthday. Want to find a very special place for dinner. Seastar is having a wonderful dinner that I am thinking about going to. What about other places that have a very special atmosphere. Would love to hear your experiences.

Negril Irene. I have been lucky enough to spend a few Thanksgiving in Negril. However when my birthday was on Thanksgiving we went to Rockhouse around 4:30 had cocktails and conch fritters and watched the sunset. We then went to Kuyaba for dinner and we both had pumpkin soup and lobster. Bryan had lobster thermadore and I had grilled lobster. Bryan ordered key lime pie to go. We went back to the hotel and Bryan surprised me with a bottle of champagne he had carried down (this was before 9/11 and you could carry it on) I didn't even know he had it. It was a very special day.

My Birthday is the 28th and has been on Thanksgiving before, we are always there for it also. I like the deck at Rockhouse, Tensing Pen, or Xtabi.

this year it falls on saturday se we will probably go to Seastar for a bit and then do dinner at one of those three.

one year there was a big group of us there that all had birthdays on or near thanksgiving and they did a party for all of us at Seastar. cant remember if that was last year or the year before

For a nice quiet romantic dinner, I would choose Geno's at the Mariposa. The food was fantastic and the service is second to none. I have had several great meals there and can't wait to go back. They have been voted the best Italian food in the carribean for several years straight.

Might be stupid questions but;

#1. Do they raise turkeys in Jamaica?

#2. Do they import them (assuming they don't raise them) for Thanksgiving?

A special Thanksgiving lobster dinner on the beach 'Jamaican stlye'-
nothing against the traditional turkey but when in Ja. why eat an imported frozen steroid feed bird??
... mi gonna miss AJ #58 :-(

Blue Cave Castle is also great, very quiet peaceful surroundings, you can sit out by right by the ocean and the food is delicious.

FYI - thanksgiving is not a holiday celebrated in ja. obviously there are places that cater to the foreigners, but just so you know... there were no pilgrims in JA. lol.

Rockhouse has a very romantic atmosphere, you can request the table that is completely separate and apart from everything else.

i've also heard good things about the food at Kuyaba, and the raised platform for a private romantic dinner. i haven't been there myself, but have read that it is lovely.
