Do we just flag down any red plated cab?

Will they be out in front of Riu Tropical Palace.

Thanks.

And 1 more question, if we need to go to the digicel dealer, do we just tell them that, or do they just take us to the roundabout, then we walk to the dealer...Do our thing, then flag down another cab or does he wait for us?

There are a lot of cabbies that hang out along the road by hotels. And at the AI's they will try and push you toward one of these folks who will charge you "private rate" rather than "route taxi". If you you're looking for Route Taxi, they'll say ya mon, no problem, get in. Make sure you specify 80J per person right???? Before you get in any cab make sure you say you want Route Taxi to downtown 80J right? That's about $1 US, you can say that too. For me, I always round it to the nearest JA bill which would be 100J. Or if it's 2 of you, you could specify that you'll pay $200J to downtown. Remember Route taxi's will beep their horn all along the way to pick up other passengers and you may have several people crammed in a tiny car.

If you want to pay for a private taxi, they should charge you no more than $5 US to go from Riu to downtown Negril. Just negotiate that with any of the cabbies hanging out by the road outside the RIU gates.

Once you get downtown, everything is pretty much right there. Just ask them to drop you at the digicel store or point it out to you if they have a full load and go straight to the route taxi lot.

P.S. I've heard stories of cabbies trying to charge $15-20 to people going from an AI to downtown. That's ridiculous!!! Be firm at $5. If they say no, just respond, no problem, I'll wait for a route taxi then and walk away. Most likely, they'll change their tune.

The 80 ja trip will have you at the roundabout and the store is across the street. Ask the driver to point it out.
Look two days!!!
