Hoping that there are some kind of swimsuit/board short clothing stores in Negril. If anyone has info please let me know.

Some of the stores at Sunshine Plaza have some swimsuits and some board shorts. Have seen some cute suits and have even purchased one there. Not the greatest quality, but cute and the price wasn't bad. Times Square on Norman Manley may also have a few shops with these items. For some higher end products, the gift shops in the larger resorts have more yet you will definitely PAY more!!

Probably be much better off getting these before going, unless you just want to get another there for fun!

As Yetta said, the cheap ones definately lack in quality, I would not purchase these items down there unless my suit tore and I was desparate. They have cute/cheap ones but I don't think they would last very long. You will pay through the nose for a high quality one.

Ok, I live an hour from beach the in the states. I enjoy buying swimsuits for me and board shorts for my husband. I like to shop in surf shops and such. I also live near allot of bathing suit boutiques. In Jamaica, they have limited options. Like crocheted suits, lesser quality suits, I guess they have mens board shorts. You wont find brand names, like if your used to Stussy, Quicksilver, stuff like that, you wont find it. I tend to bring allot of bathing suits with me, along with a beach towel. Peace

The only swim suits I have seen worth buying are the hand made crochet ones that the locals make. They look like they would only fit women under 110 lbs.if any one has any photos to post i wouldnt mind a look.

The swimsuits in those places like the Sunshine Plaza, Coral Seas, and Times Square are gears towards tourists, so the quality is not good. Try maybe Sava or Lucea. But it you just want something for the time that you are there then the ones at the shopping centers will be ok.

Try going on Newport News or Walmart.com or Old Navy.com and click on the clearance links.

rockhouse had a cool shop which a friend of mine bought some stuff at, some local brand names like cooyah- in fact there used to be a cooyah shop in negril near sunrise club but now it is something else, I picked up a SICK limited edition puma track jacket with a hummingbird embroidered on the back at that rockhouse shop. in fact they had three and I bought every one. plenty of people have literally wanted to buy it off my back.

My guess is that brand names would be about has true as a Rolex purchased on the streets of NYC. Even if the quality were there, the price would need to be very attractive.

again...not top quality...but quite a few to pick from.
Just look upstairs as you first come off the round-a-bout going towards Sav...you'll see then displayed on the railings.

You�ll need several suits while vacationing�.so I suggest you shop before you go and pick up one in JA just to say you got it there. Lord & Taylor always has cute suits and you can also get earrings to match!
