We are leaving in ten days WOOHOO! We are first timers and I was wondering if anyone had any recent trip reports from GP? I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I love coming to the board, seeing and hearing from all of your experiences.Does anyone know if there are shops to buy bathing suits and board shorts around Negril and if so where and what are the names of shops. We live in Oregon and they stopped seling those items about a month ago or longer.

Oh yes there are TONS of suits available all over Negril.
I have to laugh because it seems Grand Pineapple is the only resort that anyone is staying at lately.
There have been LOTS of threads here;
If you click on the icon of the magnifying glass in the dark blue side bar it will take you to the search area. In the first field type in Grand Pineapple and you will see all the threads with reviews, pictures etc.

We were at GP in September. They were running a great special this fall. Plenty of places to shop on 7 mile. Be sure to wander down to White Sands and say hi to the bartenders Tony and Paul. While there just to the left of the television you will see a license plate from Vermont that says FOU FOU. It's my wife's. We've been all over the Caribbean but we find the place we continue to go back to,(twice this year), is Negril. Have a great time!

LOL I was thinking the same thing. The trips are finally taking place that everyone booked during that fantastic sale back in May. And more coming....

Just got back yesterday from the GP. First time at an AI in Negril. We had a great time there. The bartenders, Andrew, Gary and Javion, were lots of fun. By the second day they would call you by your first name. The beach was outstanding, the security was second to none, (Rahlston kept a close eye on the hawkers on the beach). The food was plentiful and good. Housekeeping was also very good. Loved the massage at the spa. We took a day trip to Mayfield falls. If you have any sense of adventure, I highly recommend that you go. Please get off property and go see the "real Jamaica". The mountains are so beautiful and the people are fun to meet. I will post pictures as soon as I find time to get completly unpacked. In closing, I highly recommend the GP to any one that wants a smaller property with a real warm feeling. P.S. I can't stand the large AI's.
