Next time remember to take some J$ home and then you will not need the cambio for a few days until you are in Negril. Irie Sue

| yah the airport rate isn't as good as the cambio for sure, but no matter....i always change US $20 or so at the airport first thing, the few $J difference in exchange rate isn't as important to me as having some cash in my pocket right away, so i can get some snacks on the way to negril and and not have to stress about finding a cambio immediately upon arrival. |

why not just convert in your head and give 'em US, never seems to be that big of a problem, they seem happy with both?? my change is correct as can be, then with a little tip back..same/same "I learned during the 60's, that the greatest discovery of my generation is, that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes"

Agreed, Rambo. I have yet to feel a need for $JMD between the airport and my destination. I probably do 90%+ of my transactions in $JMD, but it is worth the upwards of 20% to wait until I reach my destination. I have yet to meet a taxi/transfer driver that would not take USD - but I agree to the price beforehand, in USD, based (in my head) on the real exchange rate. Also, depending on where you are headed, it mike be easiest to just have your driver stop at a bank or cambio along the way.

I don't know about it lasting a few days, but I always have a few thousand Ja.$ leftover and bring it back for a starter! Skip the airport. Before you die you gotta live {04,29,2010}
