| I am planning a upcoming visit and I want to try something new, some place or attraction not normally done by tourists but known by locals. I love reading stories by some of you oldtimers and about the journeys you've taken in Ja and hope you all can share some experiences and direct me to some off the beaten path adventures....thanks |

| Bluefields Beach was interesting. My favorite used to be Benji's at Roaring River, but since he's gone a farrin, I haven't been back. |

There is a seldom visited cave up in Red Ground but it is not for the squeamish.....lots of bats guano and trash. You would have to get a local to take you. http://www.negril.com/discus/messages/43768/48323.html?1185654986 http://www.negril.com/discus/messages/43768/48419.html?1185689887 Regards, Bob If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it costs when it's free. -- P.J. Bluefields has always been a required stop for me. Many sweet memories and meals there. Weekends are the most interesting when Jamaicans spend the day there. If you want a truely unique and magical experience, go to Rocklands Bird Feeding Station. You haven't lived until you've had a Dr Bird perch on your index finger and take a sip from a little bottle of sugar water. Mind blowing! Also, they will lead you on a tour of the property and point out more birds and plants. It's a nice, easy walk along old roads. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery

if we tell you about the off the beaten path's then they will soon be trampeled upon ! LOL ! Check Bluefields, but it is not off the beaten path. Or go to Pelican Bar on the south coast. Have you walked the board walk at the Royal Palm Reserve just outside Negril ? One Love, Karin

why don't you volunteer at say, theodora house? a noble stroke he lifted high, Which hung not but so swift with tempest fell On the proud crest of Satan that no sight, nor motion of swift thought, less could his shield such ruin intercept; ten paces huge he back recoil'd; the tenth on bended knee...

We found this opening to a cave while wandering around Red Ground one day. One of the old timers sitting in front of the shop across the way said it goes all the way to the HiLo area. You can just see the rear end of a Lada someone dumped down there...
