wit, look for Gabrielle to respond, I think she also has stayed there and may have better insight than myself. My experience was a positive one and we would stay there again. I will say I like Xtabi better (similar price range). They were very nice to my friend from Red Ground and our friends from Lucea. It wasn't a problem for them to visit, hang at the pool or swim in the sea with us. The breakfast was included and it was off the menu which was very nice. Also I have a friend who is married to someone from Red Ground and they like to stay there. The downside in my opinion. Bathrooms need to be updated. The property next to SOTC, Rock Cliff, has seen better days. We heard that a couple had owned it and were in a divorce situation. Hence the property wasn't getting the care it should. It was hard to tell exactly what was going on there if you get my drift. This could be just me because I am a watcher/observer. I hope this helps. |

Thanks skyjuice...yup it helped. I know the property next door is run down. It's walking distance to Rockhouse and that would save us alot in cabs. We want to eat dinners at Rockhouse. We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

I haven' just stayed there, but gone to hang out on my other two visits too. They welcome customers that are nonguests to their bar/retaurant, and the views from there are very nice. They have a ladder for sea access, and there is what I think is a pretty cool blow hole there. They have recently built a diving platform which I havent checked out yet, but will on my next visit. From what I understand, they have done quite a few update, but when I was there the bedding was comfortable and the room was very spacious. Nice balcony too that looked out right out by the sea in my room. They have room only, and they also have AI, which is from the menu, not buffet, and I thin it runs bout $125 per person these days. http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=5801

I stayed one night and one day...I didn't like it because I am not a Cliff person, but it is a nice place. So here is my opinions: Do not book a room under the restaurant, you will not get any rest. The VIEW from those rooms are AWESOME, but the noise of moving chairs and clanking dishes is not good. If you can, test the beds out before settling on a room, some beds are hard and some are not. The pool is large and they have plenty of loungers. The grounds are nice, but some pathways are very dark at night, be careful walking. There is a small grocery store about a 2 minute walk from there that pretty much have anything you will need and is very reasonable.

After looking at the photos I have a question. Where is everyone? Or better yet, why is nobody there? Inside every older person is a younger person wondering 'What the heck happened?'

shhhhhhhhhhh I like it like that LOL. As you know...ocean VIEW is the most important...as long as they have a pool. I don't like the colour of the water in the pool in jessa's pics though. Ooops my pool nazism is showing. We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

You know when I was there last, the place was almost full, and there were two weddings in four days, and yet the place still didn't seem that full. The bed I had was pretty comfortable. I know they have done some renovations since I was there last..you might want to check out this link as it has some newer pics: http://www.negrilonestop.com/sunsetonthecliffs_photos.shtml http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=5801

Well, it was that one day, but I think it was very cloudy that day..on other days the water was more clear. I take pics from throwaway cameras that are unaltered by color, so yeah, it looked like that that day. They did have a restroom to use right downstairs from the pool that was kept clean, and I would use that, but of course I can't speak for anyone else, but there was never more than a few people in at a time, and most of the time swam alone. http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=5801

For many, many years, I have visited this property to use the pool, and get food & drinks. I love it there. The cliff is so peaceful and beautiful at this property. They have great breakfast & lunch.(never had dinner). I used to pretend I was a movie star and this was my place because quite often no one else was there at the pool. The bartenders would wait on me hand and foot while I float at the pool. It is cleaned daily,(I forget his name)really nice guy, he cleans lots of the pools in Negril. I always tell him "I want your job"!
Never ever once was the pool not clean and I go there quite often. The property is under new management for the last few years and has been all redecorated. I really like the new chairs at the pool. Very nice, except I see the new diving platform as a eye sore. I preferred the open view of the sea. Seems more and more people have been staying at my best kept secret on the cliffs. Dang, even one day some spring breakers found it!
On Thursday nights, early evening the sister property on the beach has great entertainment and 2 for 1's rum drink specials. www.Cindyrellaphotography.photoreflect.com

mi have stayed der when it was Coral Seas Cliffs just before it became Sunset and liked it of course...... what I found was that it was a very quiet and relaxed place like alot of places on da Cliffs...... and hardly any tourist too which can be a good thing cause you practically have the place to yourself.... the best thing is you can sit right on your balcony and see the beautiful Caribbean....and what awesome sunsets from der too.... mi would stay der if it was price right, but prices are much higher than when it was Coral Seas.....
