i've often been tempted to bring down some flour and ask sunrise to make me some doughs. i would ask them if you could buy just the dough, this is common in most pizzerias here in ny, not sure how it would be received if you don't know them though. i'd be willing to bet nobody has approached them yet with that request. making your own is not that tough, if you are going to make a pizza, may as well go all the way! then you could bring your own flour- better pizzas come from not using baker's flour- just to make sure you will get a great dough. You can get the cheap "add water" betty crocker kind in Sav and montego Bay--- think I've seen it in negril once in awhile too. "The Greatest Thing You'll Ever Learn is Just to Love and Be Loved in Return."

Thanks everyone, my family loves pizza and I was thinking about making a few on our next reach. I must admit, I have never made my own. We like really thin crust and I usually just buy my dough from the pizza place down the street. I also use the pillsburry dough sometime when in a hurry. But, I can only use 1/2 of the roll at a time since we like it so thin... ***** Legends on the loose........if you are out there how about posting that wonderful picture you have of the lobster pizza

I guess a lot also depends on what you consider to be pizza. Preserve rather than destroy. Avoid rather than check. Check rather than hurt. Hurt rather than maim. Maim rather than kill. For all life is precious nor can any be replaced.

Angela's is outstanding! I took my 5 boys to Negril as a reward for their work on the yard and beach--couldn't believe how fast they devoured theirs. Even wanted to try my veggie! |

Angela's was good. I got a jerk sausage pizza. It was GREAT though! I tried 23/7 and didn't care for it.

| We regularly bring the pre-made crusts such as Boboli. Saves alot of time and hassle. I used to bring the dry mix which you mix with water, but it's quite sticky, and hard to roll out evenly. I also bring pizza sauce in a plastic bottle (thank you, Contadina), and Hormel turkey pepperoni which doesn't need refrigeration until opened. I always carry crushed red pepper, so that's easy. I only need to buy the shredded mozzarella and fresh veggies in Negril. |

Seastar does Coco Bread pizza that is good. But like Monk said - depends on what you consider pizza. I'm a transplanted New Yorker and I have a really hard time eating pizza here in California...I guess I'm as picky about that as I am about my wine. I gotta tell ya though - Mr. Slice made a killer NY style pizza back in the day - much better than I ever got in California. Miss his 2 for 1 late night specials too and that Calalloo pizza? To DIE for. http://nikkikamens.squarespace.com

I would love to bake more in JA - I hardly ever get a place with an oven though. Even my long stay had to "borrow" a neighbors oven once in a while. Totally agree with Angela's and Sunrise Club. My biggest gripe with pizza I have tried elsewhere was the "sauce" was like ketchup. Don't remember the name but there was a recent post of a new Pizza Place on West End that just does pizza - they may have dough you can buy.......maybe someone will post the info?? I heard through the grapevine that Slice has a new pizzeria. In Dubai. a noble stroke he lifted high, Which hung not but so swift with tempest fell On the proud crest of Satan that no sight, nor motion of swift thought, less could his shield such ruin intercept; ten paces huge he back recoil'd; the tenth on bended knee...

FYI, was in Hilo today and they had pre-made whole wheat pizza crusts in the bread aisle. I don't go to the bread aisle very often so I don't know if it's there all the time or not. I myself am eating Angela's pizza right now, and it's good. "The Greatest Thing You'll Ever Learn is Just to Love and Be Loved in Return."
