Newbie needing advice! My fiance and mother both agreed with my suggestion on a destination wedding in Negril however I don't want to get married on the beach. I love the ambiance of Rockhouse but is not within my budget. I've heard great things about Negril Escape and Seastar Inn. Has anyone been to or held a ceremony at any of these sites, or can suggest another property cliff side? We are expecting about 30 guests total and are trying to keep costs down so that we can splurge on photography |

SeaStar Inn or Blue Cave Castle would be perfect........ get the Penthouse suite(honeymoon suite) at the Castle if it is available.....it's priced right! wi have had quite a few boardies that got married at either the SeaStar Inn or Blue Cave Castle...... Rockhouse is way to expensive for most of us anyways...... | Thanks Kat, never considered BCC (and I'm not a Jamaica or Negril newbie traveler). I know the price will be different now, but could you let me know how much you spent and what the price included? Feel free to send a private message with the info. |

| Wow, seems like I've missed a gem! The prices for accommodations are perfect at BCC - does anyone have pictures or video to share? |

pictures of a wedding there, or just the place in general? see here: www.garrettnuddphotography.com/Slideshow/Sockol and i can give you a ton of links to BCC pics in general too. just know that BCC doesn't "throw you a wedding." there are local coordinators you can work with in negril, or you can plan it yourself. boardies Gum and Chet and Colleen have both previously provided detailed lists of vendors they used in planning their own (and daughter's) weddings. my wedding there was in april of 2007 - we took over the castle for 5 days and filled it with our family and friends. the entire time i just kept saying "i'm so blessed!" congratulations to you and your fiance! welcome to the board, and i hope you have a wonderful future filled with lots of love and laughter. |

My Empress Donna & I also got married at the Blue Cave Castle. You can see the video in 3 parts on YouTube, just search for Blue Cave Castle wedding and you should find it. We were blessed to be able to reserve the entire property for a week and filled it up with family. It was absolutely a dream come true. I/we had stayed there many times but to have the whole place to ourselves was incredible. We did have to reserve it a year and a half in advance. Susan the owner, Petrona the manager, Fuzzy who does it all and helped build the place, and all the staff are simply the best. They have food service on site and the views and vibe can't be beat. In regards to price and such...I did everything myself with a lot of help from the castle crew and many others that helped with last minute details I did not considered ahead of time. If I had it to do over I would have a coordinator take care of all those little details so myself, the castle crew which were our guests, friends living in Jamaica and boardie friends could have enjoyed the hole thing. I can't tell you how grateful I am for all of their help making our day perfect!!! No matter what you can't go wrong getting married in Jamaica.

I would also suggest Blue Cave Castle the place is wonderful I love the atmosphere and surroundings. I fell in love with the place the moment I walked through the door. The staff treat you like family and nothing is too much trouble for them. Another place worth considering which would probably be on a similar price range to Negril Escape is Catcha Falling Star. What a beautiful place this is also, very picturesque and also with very good staff. They have just completed the pool there too.

When we were married at BCC we had A traditional ceremony, but everything else was very casual. We had no wedding planner & organized on our own. We were sure to have a photographer though. ~ We had the ceremony, then a small group of us had dinner at Chicken Lavish. Dear friends got the flowers and made our wedding arch which to this day I am thankful for!! (It really made some of our pictures!)
Then off to MiYard for our reception where we put on beer for all of our guests. I brought a CD w/ some music that I wanted for the reception, too. ~ THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!~

Dosn't sound like you need more convincing but I also vote for the Blue Cave Castle. We took over the place in July for a week for the wedding of my nephew. It was magical. We have been going there for about 10 years but everyone else were newbies. Everyone is planning to go back again. You will never find a more committed, kind and loving bunch of people than the castle crew. It feels like going home. and the photos you will have will be amazing. \

Too true, we went there for dinner one evening on my recent visit. Of all the nights for it to happen, there was a power cut so walking back home was going to be quite an ordeal as we had the baby in a pushchair and the roads where pitch black in darkness. Patrona arranged for the security guard at BCC to walk us back safely with his flash light. Not many would have done the same for us.

Tensing Pen is spectacular IMO. But certainly not in the same category nor price range as BCC. BCC is budget...TP is high end and getting higher We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

a wedding went on next door at catcha the next weekend after ours and it was really pretty too. the property looked very nice from the water. I heard it was cheaper as well. *TP is not that high end. The only real $$ is having to book the entire property out for 3 whole days, but if you have that many people coming (it only holds near 40 people) and all rooms are full, then it's not a lot. We looked at several diff places and TP was reasonable in comparison. |
