The sixth annual reggae marathon was a resounding success with Jamaican Andrew Gotzmore winning the race in just over 2 hrs and 44 minutes. The torch lit start was dramatic as usual and the sounds of reggae music from the live bands and sound systems could be heard along the whole course. This year saw Bert,the 81 year marathon veteran completing his 182nd marathon (picture bottom right)and our very own negril.com family member David Sykes(Firefly resort) completing the marathon in 6 hours and 13 minutes. All in all it was an event all Negrilians and Jamaicans can be proud off and we look forward to it same time next year. See www.reggaemarathon.com for more information.
