Whitehall Great House is one of
Negril’s historical treasures and was built in 1776 by
Englishman Robert Parkinson Esquire. The estate produced
sugar cane and cloves. Parkinson died in his forties and his
grave was opened about a hundred years later when thieves
stole the valuables he was buried with. His grave can be
seen at the property as well as a thousand year old cotton
tree.
There is no entrance fee but donations are accepted to help
the upkeep of the estate. Whitehall estate is located on the
left before getting to Good Hope.
