Fisherman Mr. Allen repairs his Fish Pots at Negril River.

Mr. Allen is one of the twenty fishermen who fish of Negril’s shores. The number of fishermen has dwindled since tourism has become major business in Negril with many boat owners using their vessels for snorkeling trips, sunset tours and glass bottom boats instead.
Mr. Allen has been fishing for over thirty years and generally fishes 2 to 3 miles off shore where the fish pots are dropped to depths of 180 feet. His fishing trips typically last between 5 am to 11 am and his boat is usually met with many people back at the fishing village, waiting to purchase the freshly caught fish.
If you happen to want freshly caught fish or to just enjoy the spectacle, be sure to visit the Negril fishing village in the mornings. The fishing village is next to the craft market
