Frank the
Trumpeter is a very special musician that lives and works in
Negril.
If you go to
any show in Negril, you are bound to have the pleasure of Frank
blowing some sweet sounds on his trumpet. From Bourbon Beach to
Charela Inn and most live gigs in between Frank is there playing
reggae, blues and jazz.
He learned to
play at age 15 at Alpha Boys School in Kingston where his
special talent was recognized. He honed his skills with the
First Battalion Jamaica Regiment Band and has not put the
trumpet down since. That’s a total of 29 years to date and no
doubt he will be playing for many more! In fact it is a rare
occasion that he will be seen without his trumpet in hand.
Frank’s
personal favourite music style is Jazz and you can catch him in
his element at Roots Bamboo’s jazz evening on Sundays and
Charela Inn on Thursday nights.
