Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest is an annual summer music festival (staged by Summerfest Productions Ltd.) dedicated to showcasing the indigenous music of Jamaica, while also promoting the island as a vacation destination. First staged in 1993, the event has showcased the best talent in reggae music such as Shaggy, Sean Paul, Damian Junior Gong Marley and the Ghetto Youths Crew, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Sizzla, Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, Beres Hammond, Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer, Third World, Morgan Heritage, Maxi Priest, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, and many more.

The future of reggae music is bright as is evidenced by the current success of Sean Paul, Wayne Wonder, Sizzla and Beenie Man. Summerfest Productions Ltd. believe in the music of our small island nation and see Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest as the vehicle through which to promote and showcase the incredible talent of current and upcoming artistes.

Montego Bay is the second largest city in Jamaica but is considered  the capital of tourism. Mo-Bay as it is affectionately called, is located in North Western Jamaica and is the capital of the Parish of St James.

Tourism in Jamaica is said to have been born here and today Montego Bay boasts a wide selection of accommodation, from older, well-established luxury hotels and newer all-inclusives to many small and intimate places. Historic great houses give visitors the opportunity to explore the regions colonial heritage and hip and modern restaurants and bars offer a great nightlife. Montego Bay is also good for shopping and boasts great duty free shops, craft markets and boutiques. Add some great beaches and an international airport and you have a world class resort city.

Not only is Montego Bay a booming resort city, it is also has a thriving port and is an important economic centre for Jamaica. The second city is also famous for being the home of the worlds premier reggae festival, Reggae Sumfest. Every summer, thousands of people come from all over the world and Jamaica to enjoy this feast of reggae music.

All year round Montego Bay is a colourful, vibrant city which has something to offer everyone. It’s a great little city and one that Montegonians are rightly proud of.
